Program Overview
This is the second step in our introductory-level training program. It is a skills-based training program and builds on the knowledge acquired in the Think Like an Interpreter medical interpreter training program. It focuses on developing the core performance-based skills that are required of interpreters working in healthcare and medical settings. Through this program, students are prepared to apply their skills in real-world interpreting encounters.

Interpreting modes: consecutive, simultaneous, sight translation
Interpreting modalities: onsite, telephonic, video remote
Managing the interpreted encounter
Applying interpreting skills in a variety of medical and healthcare contexts
Developing professional skills applied beyond the interpreted encounter
